All I Have Is Christ Video

This summer at Grace Church we learned the song by Jordan Kauflin called "All I Have Is Christ."

Here is a video of Jordan singing this song at the Next 2009 Conference.

I highly recommend buying the download of this 13 song album at Sovereign Grace for $5. Every song is tremendous.

Here are the lyrics to the song again.

I once was lost in darkest night
Yet thought I knew the way.
The sin that promised joy and life
Had led me to the grave.
I had no hope that You would own
A rebel to Your will.
And if You had not loved me first
I would refuse You still.

But as I ran my hell-bound race
Indifferent to the cost
You looked upon my helpless state
And led me to the cross.
And I beheld God’s love displayed
You suffered in my place
You bore the wrath reserved for me
Now all I know is grace.

Hallelujah! All I have is Christ
Hallelujah! Jesus is my life

Now, Lord, I would be Yours alone
And live so all might see
The strength to follow Your commands
Could never come from me.
Oh Father, use my ransomed life
In any way You choose.
And let my song forever be
My only boast is You.

More Sovereign Grace Music for a Good Price

Here is a good cd to worship with -- "Next 2009 Live" -- the live recording of the NEXT 2009.

Many of the songs are familiar (we sing several at Grace - "All I Need Is Christ", "Jesus, Thank You").

You can download this album here for $5.

I haven't listened to all the songs but a new one to me, "I Need You", is worth the entire album price.

Here are the songs:

New Kids CD - Sovereign Grace

Today the new Sovereign Grace Music kids' CD came out. My family loved the first CD, Awesome God, and we look forward to enjoying "To Be Like Jesus."

I love the rich God-centered lyrics (like "Mighty Savior" in the first CD) as well as the music.

Here is the info on the CD:

To Be Like Jesus contains twelve worship songs that teach the fruit of the Spirit in a creative and memorable way. Through these songs kids will learn that Jesus is our perfect example of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. More than that, they’ll discover that we can’t be like Jesus unless we trust in the power of his cross to forgive us and the power of his Spirit to change us.

You can buy the album for $12 and download all the songs for $9 here.

Treasure - Free Song by Luke Pehoski

My sermon text for tomorrow is:
Matthew 13:44-46 "The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.

(45) "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, (46) who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it.

I came across a song that Luke Pehoski (a.k.a - Pastor Luke to some) wrote a few years ago and I hope we can sing the song soon at Grace Church. It fits so well with the sermon and discipleship to Jesus Christ--our Treasure.

Here is the song:

You can download it for free here.

Lyrics:

Treasure
Lyrics and Music by Luke Pehoski

Jesus be my treasure, be my one consuming passion
Jesus consume my actions, Lord be my only all

For Lord, You are sufficient
Teach me to thirst for You
Lord, You’re magnificent
The One and only True

Source of pleasure, hope forever, satisfying passion
Be my complete, final joy, every need fulfilling

May I never truly rest, Nor be complete in seeking
Lord ever increase my hunger for You, all my days

Free Song - All I Have Is Christ

I love songs that testify to the Gospel's redeeming work in the hearts of sinners from the bondage of sin. I highly recommend downloading this song and taking the time to ponder the lyrics (below).

I came across this song by Bob Kauflin's son - Jordan Kauflin. It was sung at the New Attitude Conference '08.

You can download it for free here.

You can listen to it below.

All I Have Is Christ - Na Band

Here are the lyrics - they are powerful.

ALL I HAVE IS CHRIST

I once was lost in darkest night
Yet thought I knew the way
The sin that promised joy and life
Had led me to the grave
I had no hope that You would own
A rebel to Your will
And if You had not loved me first
I would refuse You still

But as I ran my hell-bound race
Indifferent to the cost
You looked upon my helpless state
And led me to the cross
And I beheld God’s love displayed
You suffered in my place
You bore the wrath reserved for me
Now all I know is grace

Hallelujah! All I have is Christ
Hallelujah! Jesus is my life

Now, Lord, I would be Yours alone
And live so all might see
The strength to follow Your commands
Could never come from me
Oh Father, use my ransomed life
In any way You choose
And let my song forever be
My only boast is You

Worship Music as an Instrument for Salvation

C. H. Spurgeon on the selection of songs for the worship service:
I TRUST, my brethren, that we all feel very deeply the importance of conducting every part of divine worship with the utmost possible efficiency. When we remember that the salvation of a soul may hang, instrumentally, upon the choice of a hymn, we should not consider so small a matter as the selection of the psalms and hymns to be a trifle. An ungodly stranger, stepping into one of our services at Exeter Hall, was brought to the cross by the work of Wesley’s verse. — “Jesu, lover of my soul.” “Does Jesus love me?” said he: “then why should I live in enmity to him?”
From Lectures to My Students -- "On the Choice of a Text"

Please pray for Matt Howard and me as we plan the worship service each week -- including the selection of songs. We try to post them ahead of time each week at www.gracewyomingmedia.com.

Children's Worship Music

Yesterday during the worship service we sang a song that was first introduced to us by the kids' choir on Easter Sunday. The song is one of my kids' favorite -- "Mighty, Mighty Savior" by Mark Altrogge.

It comes from the Sovereign Grace Music kids cd called Awesome God. I highly recommend the cd and so do my 4 kids (including Barnabas - age 11 months). The theology is kid appropriate and rich. However, like any good song, the lyrics and music are edifying and enjoyable to the parents as well.

I have to admit that some of these songs (the music not lyrics) sounded a tad corny to me at first, but after listening to them a few times they grew on me. Now I love them.

Theologically, I love having my children learn words like these:

No one is good
No one is holy before God
I need someone to cleanse me
No one is pure
No one is righteous in Your sight
I need someone to save me
But I’m so glad You died and rose again
For helpless sinners like me

What a mighty, mighty Savior You are
What a mighty, mighty Savior You are
You can wash away my sin
You can change my heart within
What a mighty, mighty Savior You are

Sin is too strong
For me to conquer on my own
I need someone to help me
I am too weak
I cannot change my evil heart
I need someone to save me
But I’m so glad You died and rose again
For helpless sinners like me

You can buy this song at Sovereign Grace here for $.99 or the the entire cd for $8.

Here are the songs from the album. Great gift idea for friends and family...

Almighty Creator
Forever God
You Are Always with Me
Who Is Like You?
Sovereign One
Mighty Mighty Savior
Jesus Came to Earth
Your Love
Three in One
For You Are Holy
The Gospel Song
Have You Heard?
