Sermon - Have You Been Raised from the Dead?

On Easter Sunday I asked (in the sermon):
HAVE YOU BEEN RAISED FROM THE DEAD?
Here is the sermon manuscript and audio.

4.12.09 | Have You Been Raised from the Dead? | Read | Read | Listen |
The main outline of my sermon was based on five questions--
- What do I mean by "have you been raised from the dead"? The New Birth/Regeneration
- Why do I ask? (or why is this important?) Without it you will never see the Kingdom of God
- Who has been raised from the dead? (or born again?) I share 1) false assurances, 2) danger markers and 3) indicators of life.
- How are we raised from the dead? (born again) It is the complete work of God through His Word producing saving faith and repentance.
- So now what? Words to disturbed believers and unbelievers

Family Devotions on Good Friday
Tonight we spent time talking about it and we went down to the computer and watched many Youtube videos of songs of the cross. Here is one that was very impacting to us all. It was quite shocking to them.
Both my older kids understand that Jesus suffered greatly from the Romans and Jews. They really have a hard time getting the fact that the one who really killed Jesus was God -- Like father like son. Buddy made a double-take this morning when I told him that God never forsakes His own but He did forsake Jesus for a few hours on Friday. 2 Cor. 5:21 -- "He made him to be sin who knew no sin..."
Psalm 22:1 -- "My God, My God, why have You forsaken me..."
Warning - many images in this video are disturbing.
